Here we are before the wine made my cheeks flaming red (we were likely the only two in the room with kids at home...and who had not been out in weeks...and who nearly fell asleep before the main course was cooked).

First course - garlic shrimp.

Then we started our paella.

Did I mention that the wine was included and they kept refilling our glasses?

Then we made a "salad" that included bacon, apples and pine nuts drenched in oil (because the BACON didn't have "enough fat" to cook the apples and pine nuts, the teacher said). This was by far my favorite part.

The many paellas cooking on the stove.

Our dessert tart included quince and manchego, with almonds on top. Ours was not the prettiest, but it didn't last long.

The finished product. We are grateful to amazing babysitter Katelyn, who made this evening possible. We are not grateful to Cece, who terrorized Katelyn by spilling milk all over one of our living room chairs.
