Thundersnow: Aftermath
Maybe because it was such a mess outside, Georgia decided to make a mess inside, too? Here's our clubhouse.

A++
We kept G home from school today because they are predicting "thundersnow" here this afternoon. It's been a looooonnnnnggggg day. But there was a reason for it all, I believe I was meant to see the below. Today, from the potty (because where else does she do her better work?), Georgia announced, "A GEEE! I made a GEEE!" And here it is.

Sophie with Eyes Open
We've been in pursuit of photos with Sophie's open eyes! Here she is with Roger the Monkey (so named by big sister G), a gift from KK. They're about the same size...for now.
The open eyes were short-lived this time.
During the bath she's more likely to be looking around.
Here she is after mommy went at her mane with a brush.
I just liked how jaunty she looked in her carseat this time.
It's a smile, but with spit-up on display, unfortunately.
First real tummy time! We've avoided putting her on the mat due to the above spit-up issue, and the fact that she has tummy time every time she's being held, because she's constantly looking around and trying to raise her head.

We also don't know who sent us the life-saving giant box of Size 1 diapers during Sophie's first week. They came from Amazon, but Amazon can't answer my question of who sent it. And we're still wondering who sent the puppy pillow to Georgia many months ago. She still loves it, and we still thank you so much!

Sophie at 5 weeks
We had our one-month appointment yesterday - not exactly on time, since she's 5 weeks as of today, but ok. The big news is that she is growing like a weed: 9lbs 7oz, 21.5inches! We are so proud. 
She's also growing more alert and sleeping a little longer during the night. Unlike Georgia, we don't have to wake Sophie up to eat every few hours, which is lovely. Then again, last night Georgia was the one waking me up because of the "monsters in my room." We're at that stage now, apparently. I guess we're heading toward finding a monster-repelling nightlight.

Gingerbread Housing
Friday was my first day home alone with the girls. It was scary. It was fun. I gave us a B+ overall. During Sophie's morning nap (ha, I'm pretending like this is something that we can rely on), Georgia and I finally made the gingerbread houses from the kit I bought before Christmas.
She particularly enjoyed the gumdrops.
I let her taste her work.
No, they don't look quite like the box promised - and it's not G's fault, I was in charge of the icing.
Georgia takes a moment to contemplate the coming sugar rush.

Dinner from Henry (his mom, actually)
First things first. We missed Henry's awesome 3rd birthday party, but when his saintly mom brought us dinner last week, she also dropped off the "party favors" - take a look at Henry Pan and Georgiabell!
Despite his arriving with food and gifts, Georgia became quite territorial having Henry in our house. She wanted to sit on the chair and made me put the carseat on her lap. She sat here for about 10 minutes.
Not a great shot of Henry, but the best I have, unfortunately.
The two took a bath after dinner and then Henry decided he wanted to wear her old Peter Pan costume. He actually wore it home and his mom gave it back to me during church this morning.
Funny story from church: the new sitter in the nursery told me that G was fighting over some toys with Henry this morning. Henry turned to her and said," Your mommy wouldn't like it if you weren't sharing with me." Ha! And true!

Lots of KK Fun
She read SO MANY "Eloise" books, she thought she might go mad. But then again, she gave Georgia all the "Eloise" books in the first place...
She also spearheaded a cupcake mission after noodle lunch on Thursday, and Georgia was thrilled.
Her presence also made it possible for Sophie to get a mid-day bath.

About Little Sophie
She is such an interesting kid. She really likes to be held while she sleeps, which is different from Georgia, and seems to prefer the bouncer to sleeping in her crib so far. We have been working on convincing her of the benefits of the swing, but she's not yet a superfan (we did get a 2 hour nap in the swing yesterday, so I'm counting my blessings).
At the 2-week appointment (nearly 2 weeks ago, sorry), she weighed in at a whopping 8lbs, which made all the suffering of nursing worthwhile (and we are suffering, still, unfortunately). She also measures 20 inches, which means she's gained an inch since birth. We have our 1 month appointment this coming week and I hope to report back a lot faster this time. Daddy thinks Sophie's eyes are turning brown, but I'm not so sure, since she doesn't show them to me too often (and when she does, it's about 3am when I'm not about to turn on the overhead light to check). She lets Georgia hug her a lot, which is good, because Georgia is really into hugging her.
This morning Georgia asked us if Sophie was "big" yet? We asked her if she wanted her to be big, and she said, "big and little!" I like her sense of balance. I think I agree that I might like her to be bigger (and sleeping through the night), while also staying little.

Dance Party with KK!
KK just left. We are so mournful. She was awesome. Really, AWESOME and kind of took the edge off of G's recent monstrous behavior. They even had a dance party the other night.

The Usual Position
Georgia and Sophie spend a lot of time like this...Sophie in the bouncer, Georgia blowing her kisses. It's nice to watch, and kind of distracts me from Georgia's terrible behavior recently. She hasn't traced her frustrations back to the presence of Sophie in the house, which means that although she's being a monster to me, she's treating Little S with lots of big-sisterly love (um, so far).
Georgia has also been on a camera strike of late. She will say cheese while actively turning her head away from the camera. If the video is on, her favorite thing to do is look straight at it and say, "BYE!" Then she's done. I guess we burned her out on it early in life. Maybe I'll pretend this was just me ensuring she won't try out for any reality TV programs.

We have a lot of photos, but no time to explain...here, for Grandma, is a photo of Sophie with her eyes open!
Georgia has been working hard to help us with the new baby.
She particularly seems to enjoy steering the stroller - not yet into oncoming traffic!
We were headed out to breakfast, our first as a family of four. Not a disaster, but I was relieved to have daddy there to help out. I don't see us making such a venture the three of us for a long while.
