Three Little Monkeys in the Front Yard

Ok, this one takes us waaaay back. School had started, but it was still warm and we set up the pool in the front yard after class one day. Flo and Rupert came by and we tried (TRIED TRIED TRIED) to get them to do the hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil pose. It was like herding monkeys.

I love this picture. They look like good friends, not kids who regularly get together to fight over toys that neither one showed any interest in before the other one came over.

More From Our Indiana Home

Still trying to tie up loose ends of photos over here. We have lots of new news to share about G's first week at preschool and Sophie's first ear infection...but we'll get to that later. Look. At. Sophie's. Eyes. In. This. One.

KK and G.
Three generations!

Dinner out with Grandpa. Georgia, turning on the charm.

Sophie is actually sucking on a lemon. You do what you have to do.

True G Stories

From guest-blogger Daddy!

Daddy starts to close G's door after tucking her into bed:

Daddy:
Night night, G.
G:  Daddy, I want to keep dreaming.
Daddy:  You go right ahead, sweetie.  You know how to dream better than anybody.
G:  Do you do dreaming?
Daddy:  Sometimes, but not like when I was little like you.
G: Why?
Daddy:  Dreaming is just something little girls and boys are good at.
G: But why?
Daddy:  I don't know.  Maybe because God just made you.  You're brand new, and you just got here, and God makes you little ones especially good at dreaming.
G:  (Thinks for a minute.)  God loves children to be playing.
Daddy:  He sure does, baby.
G: When you share, it can be very nice.
Daddy:  That is right -- good night, baby.
-------------------------
G walks past her parents' bedroom and sees a open suitcase packed with Daddy's things.

G:  Daddy!  Your things are in my suitcase!
Daddy:  What -- oh, yes, sweetie, Daddy used your suitcase when he took his trip to Colorado.
G:  But why?
Daddy:  Well, sweetie, when Daddy went to Colorado it was a very short trip.  He went for just one night, so he only needed to take a few things -- like maybe one outfit and some shoes.  And do you know -- who has the smallest suitcase in our house?
G:  I do!
Daddy:  Yes, that's right.  So I used your suitcase.
G:  But why?
Daddy:  Sweetie, would it have been better if I had asked you  first?
G:  Yes.
Daddy:  OK, you're right, I should have asked you first.  I'm sorry -- can I have a hug?
G gives Daddy a hug.
Daddy:  Thank you Georgia.  Next time I will ask you.
Daddy turns to leave.
G:  Daddy,  you ask me.
Daddy:  You want me to ask you now?
 G:  Yes.
Daddy:  OK.  Georgia, can I use your suitcase when I go to Colorado next time?
G:  (Long pause.)  No.

At 8 months

We are at the doctor to see if her ongoing cold is actually an ear infection. The big news is that kiddo weighs 18 lbs 9.5 oz!

Sophie's Debut

So going home for the first time necessitated a big party in Sophie's honor. You may remember a similar party for Georgia a few years back. She was happy to meet Aunt Sharon.
Georgia was happy that so many of the guests arrived with presents for her, too.
Other Aunt Sharon saw some of Sophie's fussy side.
Grandpa put on a magic show, as per our ongoing request.
Big Boy Joey and Big Girl Julianne made a great audience. Georgia just did whatever they did.

This is amazing - a very simil

KK at Grandma and Grandpa's!

And one of the best parts of being at Grandma and Grandpa's? A bonus visit from KK!

Sophie took advantage of some vintage Mommy clothes. That's a double-sided Greenbay Packers bib, circa 1976, thank you very much.

More fun sink baths!
Sophie was the very cleanest she's ever been on this trip!
