SP: A Few More Things

It was colder and overcast on Day 2, so we got to see some of this sort of hooded cuteness.

G really likes repetition. She seemed to enjoy the sights even more on day 2 because she already knew what she was getting into.
Back to the bouncing. This time LilyJ was with her, so Georgia was a little more adventurous.





In line for the teacups. Thank goodness Georgia and Sophie have a daddy like Daddy - if it were up to me, movement-oriented rides would really never happen.

SP: Day 2, Lunch with Elmo

I don't think I've explained how this trip to Sesame Place came about? Short answer: LilyJ's mommy is amazing. Long answer: the J family just moved to Cambodia and this was to be a "last hurrah" weekend for the two best buddies (I kind of mean Georgia and LilyJ, just kind of). In addition to packing up a house, finding a two-year leasing renter, and nursing an infant, LilyJ's mom planned this whole weekend away. She was brilliant to include a lunch with Elmo before we all hit the road back home. Big Bird was there, too.

True to form, G was not wild about the characters. Abby Cadabby was kind of a lingerer at our table, too.

Georgia was wild about the hotdogs, however.





This totally speaks for itself.



At the end I finally convinced G to stand next to BB for a photo. We also waited in line for a photo with Elmo, but she refused to stand by him. Ah, well.



The conclusion to lunch was a big performance by all the characters, leading to a conga line, naturally. LilyJ was already in the conga line when they announced that there would be a conga line. In other words, she was totally into the party. Georgia on the other hand was kind of skeptical. At this point she tells me she cannot join in the dancing because, "I do not have a lovely dress." Seriously.

Eventually, however, LilyJ's enthusiasm convinced G that it might be ok to just go for it.



LilyJ was not happy when the characters started saying goodbye. The feeling is mutual, LilyJ!





As we walked to the exit, there was one more chance to see someone famous. As usual, Georgia waved from the sidelines while LilyJ posed appropriately.

So cute! Ugh, we miss you already, LilyJ!

SP: At the Hotel

Georgia was quite fascinated with the hotel situation. The weekend before, at the enchanted wedding, we stayed at a gorgeous B&B that looked more like a house - we had an entire wing to ourselves (with Grandma and Grandpa), and Georgia even had her own room. At Sesame Place, we all stayed in the same room. This presented some intrigue for Georgia. Here she is, post-pool time, enjoying her milk with Sophie on the bed.
She was to sleep on the foldout couch with her new sleeping bag. Sophie had her pack-and-play. Mommy and Daddy were in the big bed. Georgia was so excited because we all were in the same room. From her bed, she'd stage-whisper, "Daddy? Where you sleeping?"

"Daddy? Where's Sophie sleeping? I need to SEE her. I need give her a KISS." At about 5am, Georgia decided there were witches on her side of the room, so Daddy indulged in every parent's fantasy of snuggling in with a sleepy toddler and falling back to sleep. That was not to be. She began kicking me and then walked around on the bed for about an hour. Sigh. She's totally on track, developmentally, anyway.

Sophie also wanted to be held at midnight, 3am, 6am. All in all, we were thrilled to be the first customers at the 7am breakfast.

SP: Elmo LIVE! Face-painting!

This is the live Elmo show. Both girls were kind of quiet at the beginning, just sort of processing how this could be happening.
Soon Georgia began staring with her trademark G glaze-over.

They asked for volunteers to come on stage (G was actually too young to be picked). She only raised her hand after all the volunteers were already safely chosen. She's so much like me, it's frightening.

Later, the mommies decided to hit the gift shop, but left the kiddos with the daddies. They, as you could expect, were very quickly convinced to pay to have the girls' faces painted.

There were several choices, displayed on a board. Daddy explains it this way: "I showed her what she could be. I said, 'There's a panda! There's a turtle! A lion! A bird! A princess...A frog!' And Georgia said, in no uncertain terms, 'A princess.'" End of discussion.



LilyJ went along with it, too.





Later the two celebrated their good fortunes with Big Bird dolls.



Georgia was finally convinced to have her photo taken with Zoe. Notice how she's holding onto daddy?

SP: Parade!

Of course they have a Sesame Place parade everyday! Georgia took her very favorite seat.

LilyJ thought that looked like a good idea, too.





This was one of those moments when Georgia gets really quiet and just takes everything in. You ask her a question and she completely ignores you. About an hour later, though, you get a complete play-by-play, full of questions that you cannot answer ("And what when we were in that place was he doing was?").

SP: Rides Day 1

This park is definitely aimed at the under-6 set. There were many rides (and half the place was a water park), but there were also play areas like this one that Georgia found irresistible.

To me, it seemed a little bit too thunderdome-like. So I let Daddy do the chaperoning.

This was the extra-large moonbounce. G was not into it on day 1.

I was completely shocked that she was so enthusiastic about this ride - it spins, circles and goes up and down. Daddy was the brave one, yet again.

SP: The Characters

There were characters wandering around everywhere we went. LilyJ was an ambassador for our group, racing up to say hello to every single one.
Georgia, on the other hand, preferred to observe the characters from the safety of her double stroller.

Maybe she didn't want Sophie to feel left out?
