LilyS Playdate

We were in the car the other day when I heard Georgia wistfully say, "I remember LilyS." Leveled by the sadness of that statement, her mom and I made quick plans for an afterschool playdate. Here they are on the way to the new park near LilyS's house.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

So parent-teacher conferences were back in October and we'll say one thing for the school system, even though Georgia and Flo don't go to the same school, at least they follow the same calendar. This allowed us to do a sitter swap so that the parents didn't have to take the kids to the conference.

G and Sophie went to their house in the early afternoon. According to the report from Flo's mom, all went well.

Then Flo and Rupert came to our house during the dinner hour.

Did I mention that daddy had a meeting elsewhere? That I had four kids under four in my house at DINNER TIME?

Conclusion: we do not need to have four children.

They were cute, but Georgia was super territorial. Rupert was sad. Sophie was needy. Flo was pretty pleasant, considering that G wouldn't let her touch any toys. It was a very long two hours.

Go Team V!

Back on October 16 we were happy again to walk with Team V in the annual Strollerthon to raise money for Rett Syndrome research! Much like last year, and the year before, there was lots of fun to be had! Georgia and Maeve had a blast.

Sophie made her debut, along with Elodie Jane, Violet's new baby sister!

Trying to get the three to look at the camera at the same time was, well, a challenge.

Family Field Trip

We decided we were in need of a bit of culture a few weekends ago. So we decided to do the unthinkable, and take the whole family to a museum. Here Georgia is confused...she thinks I said "Playseum." This mistake was not discovered for a few hours, however.

We have no photos in the museum itself, because we were too busy trying to make sure Georgia didn't cause a national incident by touching one of the paintings at a fancy impressionist exhibit. We also learned that if you try to put your baby on your shoulders at this museum, a guard will tell you to stop. Who knew?

Later, we went to an outdoor gallery. G was a good sport about posing.

We promised G a treat at the fancy new bakery that recently came to town.

Jealous?

It was a fun day, all around.

Then we drove by the Occupy protest, just for a little more newsworthiness.

Later the girls got a little crazy with a messy dinner.

As long as her big sister is having fun, Sophie is game for just about anything.

We've been busy

Apologies for the long delay in posting - we've been trying to keep up with Sophie and her big appetite. Latest favorites: salisbury steak, toast, cereal, Peruvian chicken, rice and beans, fruit of all kinds, and banana yogurt.

Family picture?

This is on the wall at school. Very intriguing depiction. Sophie gets just a tiny mention as Georgia's "baby." My hairdo is surprisingly accurate. And Georgia's imaginary friend Adrian (who has been with us since school started - a very developmentally-appropriate coping mechanism, by the way) has full-fledged representation. Georgia keeps telling everyone, "Adrian is my brother. He goes to a different school." Shes so adamant, I think her teachers suspect that I'm the one not telling the truth.
