Testing out the new school supplies

Giant backpack? Check.
Dress ordered online but too small already? Check.
Crazy fun fingerpaint? Check.

Before Preschool

I must admit, before G started PS3 last month, things were getting a little desperate around here. She was bored out of her mind. Here she is making camp near the changing table.
This look says, "Please take me somewhere where I can meet new kids, do lots of puzzles and wear a cool uniform."

At the Zoo

Still catching up on all those pre-preschool photos. Before Georgia and Finn started a their big schools last month, we had one last playdate at the zoo. I think she's looking at a zebra, but who can be sure?

Sophie joined us - we think this might have been her very first trip to the zoo? Or am I forgetting something?
The new elephant habitat was finally, partially open. I know, I should not complain, this is a free zoo, so some of the renovations take a few years at a time.
She had a great day. She and Finn basically ran around like maniacs. It was kind of cute, kind of frightening.
Oh and I almost forgot about the flamingos! Look at the flamingos!
I was just thinking about how few photos of Finn I got that day - it's really hard to be a documentarian when you have an 8-month-old tagging along.
How can you take your eyes off them?
Naturally, we ended the outing with gelato near the parking lot. Georgia was actually willing to share flavors with mommy! Now we're getting somewhere!

Ohhh big girl, I'm going to miss long days like this with you.

She's a beauty

That's what LilyJ's mom said about Soph on skype chat today. I have to agree...

She's also just a nice kid. She has been sleeping through the night lately and taking some monster naps in the morning/lunch hour. She also has tooth #2 just about to pop, so all this good sleeping may not last long. A few more things about Sophiebear: She absolutely loves it when you sing to her. She makes you feel like you are the greatest singer in the world (or she's just the nicest judge on American Idol). She also really likes it when you swing her in your arms, or blow air on her face. She's delicious.

Last Dance

Yesterday was Sophie's last day at baby camp. No, she doesn't start preschool next week, but she is going to start going to a new baby camp at Daddy's office on Monday. The commute will be so much easier, we can't even describe it, but we're still sad to say goodbye to Miss Victoria. She was so much of a help with Georgia (she taught her to take a bottle - remember that whole mess?). Sophie has loved her from first sight.
In her very last report, this is what Miss Victoria wrote:
Sophia scoots around on her bottom and she gets around well. Most of the time her friends leave her behind, but she catches up. I'll miss Sophia very much, she's such a sweet, quiet, happy baby. I know her new teacher will be nice to her because Sophia is not a difficult child to take care of. Mommie/Daddy don't worry because Sophia will be alright.
