Sophie and the Monkey, again

Sophie is a growing girl - look at her compared to her monkey - at 4.5 months

Back at 6 weeks!

Updates are on the way...

Please bear with us - it's been a crazy couple of weeks including Georgia's first official haircut, an out-of-town wedding (of a prince and princess, just wait for it), Sophie's baptism, and a road trip with LilyJ! I actually downloaded 323 photos from my camera...it's daunting to think about getting them all online, but I will try. And Nana and Papa arrive in two days!

Until I get my act together, here are a few recent Georgiaisms:

-Lately, anytime she sees a patch of grass, Georgia will say, "That is the perfect place to have a picnic right now."

-Whenever Sophie starts to cry about something, Georgia tries to soothe her. Very cute. But this is what she says, at the top of her lungs, "SOPHIE I'M HERE! I'M HERE SOPHIE! I'M HERE I'M HERE!"

-While holding my old flip phone (a favorite toy), Georgia put it in her mouth. I asked her what she was doing and she said, "I don't want to lose it."

-Tonight at dinner she said, "Daddy Daddy SCUZE ME! Don't put that knife on your face, you'll hurt yourself and will get your boo-boo."

Sophie Faces

Here Sophie was reminding me of Georgia way back when.

So many different faces in a short period of time!

And so noisy!

Uh-oh?

Tummy time!

Snoozing Sophie

She's just so snuggly.

And smiley.

And shy?

Some of My Sophie Favorites

Just look at these!

She is having such a great time!

Wait a minute, what's that?

Whoa, Cece!

What was that all about?

Sister Time

Georgia may be Sophie's biggest fan.

Everyday she comes home and asks, "Is she big?" She really can't wait to be able to play with her.

Until then, dangling things in her face is about as good as it gets.

White House Easter Egg Roll

Yes, we won tickets this year. Yes, we went. Yes, it was an experience. No, we do not have to do it again. Here we are waiting for our friends before we get in line - that's the line ahead of us.

It was a gorgeous, sunny day. Who am I kidding, it was HOT. We persevered. We brought ice cubes and an umbrella to keep the sun off.

Here we are before the heat really got to us.

Georgia was so excited to go to "OBAMA'S HOUSE!"

We really should have prepared her to go to "OBAMA'S YARD." That would have saved us a lot of frustration later...

Waiting like a lady?

LilyJ was also properly attired.

The girls were amazing. We were in this clustered line for about 1.25 hours. Yessir. The White House is in the background. But we're still in line.

More about that line.

Once we were finally inside it was pandemonium. We never saw an egg, let alone found a way to have the girls roll any. There were lines 8 people deep. I've described it as being as clean as Disney World, with the crowds of a state fair. There were characters roaming around to say hello. Georgia was terrified of all of them. We did see Babar from far far away. She talked about that a lot.

This was as close to the White House as we got - hence, Georgia's extreme dissatisfaction.

I explained that the president is busy and had lots of work to do, so we (and the 5000 other people there) couldn't come inside. She was not happy.

The view in the other direction. We really couldn't get near any of the displays, and we'd had the girls in their strollers for nearly 1.5 hours at this point.

So yes, we left after about 25 minutes. Whole Foods was handing out carrot seeds on the way out and I swear the girls were overly enthusiastic, just trying to make something good out of the situation. They also handed out peeps at the exit. G really wanted purple. She tasted one and then handed them back to me. "I don't like this at all," she said. I completely agree.

So we went to a street vendor, bought the girls ice cream pops and made the dads brave rush hour traffic to pick us up. We went back to LilyJ's for dinner and to check in on the little ones, who apparently watched a lot of baseball that afternoon.

True love?

G and LilyJ had a bath and she was sooooo excited to borrow these PJs.
