Maine 2012 - Vacation!

So there once were two girls who went on vacation...with their parents...to Maine...
...In matching outfits because, yeah, I like it like that.
Upon arriving at LilyJ's grandma and grandpa's house, they each took turns fighting over this stationary bike.
There was a pool (and look at LilyJ!!! Cambodia agrees with her).
And neighborhood kids were there too.

 There were lobster rolls.
 And children's museums.
And lots of time for hugging and snuggling.
 Oh and the beach!
Sophie has a new swimsuit. Hotcha!

And LilyJ's mommy, a brilliant one, that, came up with the idea for indoor s'mores. Sophie did what her mommy would do, and just ate the chocolate by itself.

 Brave kiddo.
The daddies gave shoulder rides galore.
I love LilyJ's face on this one!
Sophie experienced her very first bounce house. Don't worry, daddy was inside with her.

The two sisters particularly liked mommy and daddy's bed.
Mr Beckett has grown up, just like Sophie!

To update us all...part 2

In keeping with the updating, you may have heard about a massive storm that hit our city a month ago. The derecho, as we are now calling it, knocked off most the power at our friends' houses. We were happy to be a place where one could recharge a cellphone and do some laundry. G and LilyS reunited during such a time. Here they are decked out in princess costumes, playing candyland, after "running the bases" around the new kitchen.
Sophie and G are having a lot more fun being sisters lately.

Sophie is basically having a lot more fun in general. Here is a butter-coated version of peekaboo.
G was happy to get to wear daddy's hat to camp one day.
Oh and we put butterflies in her new room.
There's more, these are just phone photos. Mommy promises to do the big camera soon as well.

To update us all...part 1

We've had a busy six weeks. Obviously! But I promise I haven't abandoned the blog. I'm just adjusting to our new reality. Honestly, whenever we have any downtime it just seems smarter to unpack something, rather than take the time to download photos and then write something so incredibly funny to go along with it. We just got back from a fun vacation and are about to start hosting an awesome series of family members, so it really is time to get current. Here's an update of what we've been up to.

First, we decided to move here.

Which meant we needed to do this at the old place.

Oh, and since we decided to rent our our old place, we had to do lots of stuff there for the new tenants, like this:

The day we moved, this happened to our car (the skid marks show you how it was hit - and if I had been two minutes more efficient with Sophie, I would have been standing right there, strapping her into the carseat when this happened). No, they never caught the guy.
Sophie and I got to hang out the whole day while the movers worked and daddy coached them. We had lunch on the new porch.

Georgia was off doing this with Henry:
I introduced Sophie to our new, nearby park. She liked the swings.

Eventually we all reunited at our house and things were silly, like usual.

Georgia started baseball camp the next day with Finn. It started ok, but the whole experience is not something either of us would like to repeat.
 Sophie turned 18 months.
Daddy took a (long-planned, fully mommy-sanctioned) trip to Oregon for FIVE NIGHTS just FOUR DAYS after we moved into our new house.
Grandma and Grandpa were mommy's heroes, coming in to save the day (and totally organize the kitchen).
Georgia quickly got used to the new digs.
Including this because they are just. so. cute.
Sophie fell in love with Stripes, a stuffed dog from KK. She finally has a lovey!
Then G started a new camp that - ahh - was complete with old pals Flo and Madelyn.

At this awesome camp, she has taught herself to do this:

Contrasts

We have a few different things going on here. A 19-month-old kid, sucking a thumb, sitting on a big girl chair that she needed her mommy's help to climb on. That kid is also holding a dollbaby that has recently become "her" baby. Too many conflicting statements to count!

Happy 4th of July!

Sophie is having a great morning, thanks to a cool new themed present from Nana and Papa! Thank you!
