Some Sophie Stuff

Our kiddo will be 15 months old tomorrow AND we're actually having her 15 month appointment TOMORROW! How's that for keeping up with things?! I'm quite pleased with myself - now you can cue the phone ringing for the pediatrician to cancel our appointment. In any event, Sophie is growing like a weed. This week she wore big girl shoes with soles to school. She actually cries every time I put them on her feet, so I'm wondering if she has not inherited my love for shoes - nothing a visit to Zappos won't cure, I'm sure (that worked for G).
She is in a major mommy phase. It's nice, to a point. She loves to hug and if you ask her for a kiss, she leans in with her mouth wide open and then rubs her lips on your cheek.
She also loves to wear hats, but not headbands. Go figure.
If you ask her to give a high five she puts both hands up and waits expectantly for you to smack them with your palms. Before dinner she giggles when Georgia tries to hold her hand while saying a thanksgiving prayer. In short, Sophie is a ton of fun.

Long-Awaited Playdate with Chloe

Georgia and Chloe are best friends and worst enemies. Miss Jones continues to marvel at their ability to love each other fiercely, and then punch each other in the stomach with regularity. The new classroom rule is that they are not allowed to sit next to each other - ever. This is so sad to me because we had a great playdate with Chloe in February and I just love her mom. We're going to try again this Friday. Here's hoping there are no trips to the hospital involved. Here the best pals are at - yes this actually happened - Chuck E. Cheese on a SATURDAY afternoon.

This is my favorite photo of the day. This took place just as Chuck E. Cheese himself came into the preschool room and completely spooked the kiddos. I don't know this little boy's name, but he got a little fresh with G out of sheer terror.

The Fireman's Carry

Daddy explains "The Fireman's Carry" or "How to Trick Georgia Into Finally Going Upstairs for Nap."

Dance Class

Here are some long-promised pre-dance class photos. This was before her first class in January. Yes, she had her recital last weekend. We'll get to it, I promise! Here's her "bun."
She was quite pleased with the whole ensemble.
She has moves like Jagger.

Miss Liz doesn't allow photography in the room until the recital date...so this is a stealth photo taken through the glass door using the mirror on the wall. I couldn't help myself.
Abigail and her friend Emma are also in the class!
The ladies had a great time together.

Legoland

Daddy is in heaven - his Georgiabean truly loves legos. They make a point of legoing each night before bathtime. Here they are legoing before school.

Georgia is usually constructing some sort of "princess house."
There often is a trampoline involved. What? If you had a princess house, wouldn't it have a trampoline? Thought so.

Like Big Sis

If you want to get Sophie to do something, make sure Georgia does it first. Like drinking out of a real sippy cup. She is G's biggest fan.
Surf-city over here! She's 13 months in this picture, and Georgia didn't walk until 16 months. We may have a record-breaker on our hands.

We've been busy, again

Ok, friends. The plan is for this blog to get itself current. Since no one seems to be doing that for me...and I've given them enough time to prove that...I've got to do it myself. I'm not going to lie to you. It's going to take a while. Not just because we haven't really posted anything new since the start of February, but also because, apparently, our camera has been set on "fine" for the last 6 weeks, meaning all the photos we did take are ENORMOUS and take FOREVER to download. Don't even get me started on the videos. It's a nightmare. But we love you, so we're going to soldier on. Here's a little glimpse at why it's so important - Sophie is just so darned cute. You need to see this for yourselves.
The thumbsuck/earpull is her favorite move right now.
And she's giving us these killer smiles. So yes, this photo was taken in January, but I promise to get you up to date as soon as possible.
A vaselined-lens reason why - because she's just so dreamy.
