Thanksgiving Report

Thanksgiving was truly awesome around here - KK and Grandma/Grandpa? Under one roof? Under our small, small roof? Thank goodness for the kindness of neighbors and friends nearby, who put KK up so she wouldn't have to sleep on a pile of diapers (clean ones, I promise). Daddy experimented with turducken this year.
Grandpa even helped feed Sophie a few times!
She enjoyed the parade.
So did G.

KK brought gifts because she's the best!

Daddy was pleased with the turducken results.

Sophie enjoyed showing off her new crawling skills.
You can make mashed potatoes in a crockpot! Sometimes you have to make mashed potatoes in a crockpot - because the upper part of your double oven breaks right before Thanksgiving. So you get creative. And you bake a pie in your neighbor's oven. That's just what you do.
Some progress photos...

Final result? A giant leg for G, so she was happy.

Sophie & G Meet Santa

It was an exciting day a few weeks ago when we all got to watch Sophie meet Santa for the very first time!
Georgia showed her little sis how it's done, by hopping right up to tell the Big Man what she wants for Christmas. Quite a contrast to last year.
Specifically, she is asking for a princess, a princess castle, and a baby. We have not clarified whether she's expecting a real, live baby, since that is what she got last year...

Super smiley!
Sophie was a little confused.
Henry was a good sport and ran up for a photo op.

Then we all ate breakfast - did I mention this was at 8am?
Soph was a big fan of the french toast sticks.
Flo and Rupert also came along!

"Why isn't he eating french toast sticks?"
They refused to hug on cue for the camera. It's about time, I suppose.

Later, G decided to write a formal letter to follow up on her Santa interview from earlier in the day.

Happy birthday Sophie!

A day early, but Sophie enjoys sharing cupcakes with her class!

OVERHEARD: During Playtime

Daddy sees Georgia talking on her play cell phone.

Georgia: Hmm, yes, I was thinking about babysitting. (Pause) No, not Hannah, just you. (Long pause, then as if interrupting) I'll just explain it all to you when you come. (Long pause)

Georgia brings white beaded necklace to daddy.

Georgia: I need you to help me hook this. I'm going out on my date night, with my daddy.
Daddy: Oh, who is your daddy?
Georgia: Adrian.
Daddy: I heard you were on the phone?
Georgia: Yes, I called the babysitter for my babies.
Daddy: Who is your babysitter?
Georgia: Beyonce.
