Daddy and Georgia Have a Date Day

A few weeks ago (back when we thought it couldn't get any hotter...we were wrong), daddy took Georgia to a theme park for his office's summer picnic day.

He did a great job of documenting things with his phone camera.

There was an awards ceremony at the beginning. G was very polite.

Then they got to ride the train!

I'm told she ate a whole hotdog and a ton of baked beans.

They loved the carousel.

But here's the best part - her very favorite "activity."

Swing Out, Sisters

First time on swings together...from my phone...can't figure out when this was...or if I've already posted it...too cute not to post.

The Sophie Seat

Sophie is in that glorious space between sitting up and crawling. If she's positioned with just a few pillows, toys, and within view of Cece, and she's happy for, well, minutes. She's happy for several minutes. It's very nice.

Today she is 7 months old! She's going to have her very first lunch date with daddy today, while I take Georgia to see the dreamy Dr. Williams for a checkup on her ears.
I'm packing the following things for Sophie's date with daddy: oatmeal, bib, spoons, washcloths, table tarp, sippy cup, diaperbag. I suppose it was about time she brought more luggage than Georgia.
Last night we tried turkey with squash puree for dinner. She slept until 6:15am!!!!!!! We have a winner!

Sisters, Sisters

Georgia really wants Sophie to be with her all the time. Um, yes, G is wearing a slip from her dress up box.

One of them wanted her picture taken, the other did not. Can you guess?
Here, we couldn't convince Georgia to put on a shirt after a very messy dinner situation.
Sophie didn't know why we were all laughing, but she likes to get in on the fun anyway.

Go Mommy Go!

Wow, this WAS a long time ago! On June 4 I ran the Race for the Cure and daddy brought the girls to watch. He surprised me with t-shirts. The girls were a big hit on the course.

Georgia had to wear her fairy wings, natch.

She was thrilled to use the orange stroller again!

The signs were awesome, too. Daddy figured out how they could see me at the beginning of the course, toward the end, and then again at the finish line. It involved taking a train in between two spots. He's amazing.

I think we were all very happy when this was over...

On the way back to the car we saw a drumming group. G was enchanted. Drums may not be the instrument of choice for her in our current household situation...I was thinking of the choir, actually.

Self-Service

Sophie is already showing some of her personality and independence. Oh and we're teaching Georgia some Greek (the important words, at least).

She has a habit of making it hard to feed her, by stuffing her bib in her mouth as soon as you put it on her.
She also likes to hold the spoon herself.
Sometimes she gets a little confused...

Georgia likes to help out where she can.
That's oatmeal on her nose, not paste. Don't feel bad if you thought it was paste, it's so thick and sticky, you definitely could use it for arts and crafts (if it stays as hot as it is...we just might try it tomorrow).

Hugs and Loves

Sophie and Georgia are quite the little huggers.

G also loves to kiss Soph and tell her, "GIVE ME SOME SUGAR!"

Georgia couldn't have been happier about the new real estate around the kitchen table. She loves having Sophie at her level. So far, Soph has tried rice cereal (blech), oatmeal (yum), peas and brown rice (her favorite), squash (mostly on the outside of her mouth), carrots (not so much), and sweet potatoes (we're working on this one).

Her absolute favorite thing? Ice in a mesh bag. Or water in a sippy.
