Friday in the Park with LilyJ

We had a rough week re: Georgia's health (and ER trip because of an infected thumb, stomach upset, associated moodiness). So Friday's promised trip to the park with LilyJ took on mythic proportions. We were lucky the place was empty when we first arrived. G had her pick of vehicles.

The girls enjoyed their time alone, before the hoards of kids showed up.

A little fender bender?

We brought our stash of sidewalk chalk and shared with all the kids.

G likes purple - surprised?

Sophie slept the entire time we were out - shocking. This allowed us some quality time on the swings.

Head Control

Sophie's really working on her head control!

Her TV

Daddy has taken to calling this bouncer Sophie's "TV" because she will sit and watch that darned monkey move from side to side for 20 minutes at a time. Yes, the song is about as annoying as you might imagine, but totally worth it.

Nothing Cuter...

There is nothing cuter than a kid in a sleepsack.

It really helps if the kid is Sophie, though.

She's 12 weeks old this week and apparently has no more need of the swaddle to sleep. Good thing, she's getting too big for all of our swaddle blankets anyway!

I promise, she actually is just as soft and hugable as she looks.

Don't believe me?

You should come visit and see for yourself. But I'd hurry. She just might outgrow this sleepsack within the month.

Library Party!

The library nearest to us has been under construction for the last year and a half. Last Saturday they had a grand opening party and Georgia was thrilled with the upstairs kid room.
They had an art project (completely not age-appropriate, but whatever) that had them painting cherry blossoms.

We got there early enough to have a seat, but by the time we left it was complete pandemonium.

G liked holding her cherry blossom. We checked out three books and I have had to argue with her about sleeping with them nearly every night since. The library book concept hasn't exactly lodged in her brain just yet.

Flo Turns 3

Flo's birthday party last weekend was quite a test for Georgia. She decorated a present and then had to give it to someone else. Here she is watching the birthday girl open it.

Then Georgia played with Flo's new modular dollhouse - supersmart for small spaces!

Upstairs the girls had a musical instrument party - a common occurrence around their house.

Explain this: how is it Flo's birthday...

...and yet Georgia's the one in the tiara?

Sophie slept through most of the event - as usual!
