Georgia Meets the Dentist

She was skeptical to begin with...

But I did get her to smile a little.

Dr. Lopez was very nice and complimentary of her ability to say "Ahhh."

A Little Bragging

This is Sophie, just this morning, around 7am as we were about to see Georgia and Daddy off to school. Sophie's not usually up at this hour. She usually sleeps in a bit, but did not because I had to wake her up at 6am BECAUSE SHE HAD BEEN SLEEPING SINCE 10PM!

This kid officially SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT! And so did I! I didn't even wake to make sure she was breathing.

I only had to wake her at 6am because I was worried she had passed out from lack of food all night. Wow, kiddo, you are a superstar! (NOTE: Yes, I am aware that this practically guarantees she will be up every 45 minutes tonight, the night before I return to work tomorrow. I'm just focusing on the positive right now).

Sophie Smiles

The smiling is by far our favorite new development. Things with Sophie have been going really well in the last two weeks and her smile is such a great reward after getting through the first two months.

Today Sophie is 10.5 weeks old and probably weighs near 13lbs. She's sleeping in nice long stretches at night - once even almost 8 hours! Her eyes still look blue and despite her pediatrician's pronouncement that they are turning brown, I don't really see it yet. She absolutely loves eye contact. If you look into her eyes and say hello, she is more likely to smile than anything else. It's a lot of fun.

She does share one definite trait with her sister, in that Sophia also stopped taking a bottle about a month ago. I haven't written about it because I really didn't want it to be true. Unfortunately we are about to deposit her with Victoria this week as a child who will not eat while we are apart from each other. I guess bottle striking is hereditary? Is stubbornness hereditary, too?

Sophie Finds Her Thumb

It didn't last too long, but it was pretty cute when it happened.

She seemed about as excited as we were.

Later, she and I fell asleep and Daddy practiced using the new phone camera.

Underbite

We're going to the dentist for the first time on Tuesday. I know, I know, she's THREE and we haven't done this yet. We've been busy. It's no excuse. I am hoping she will show off her underbite so we can get some predictions about her future orthodontia. In any case, I will have this phone photo to show as well.

Puzzle Partytime at Finn's

Georgia brought her princess puzzle, Finn showed off his fire engine one - it was quite a display last week!

Don't let the photos fool you, while there was a lot of time spent pondering their individual puzzles, there was also a lot of time spent stepping on the other person's finished product. They are only 3 years old.



This was taken after G spun out into the wall and gashed her forehead. Luckily, Finn's mom is an expert in all head injuries. Georgia was quickly given an icepack and a "friend" from Finn to help her feel better. It worked.

In the Car...

GEORGIA: What happened to the leaves?

DADDY: They fell off but will bloom again when it's spring.

MOMMY: Oh Georgia! Spring is mommy's favorite season! What's your favorite season Daddy?

DADDY: I love fall, it's my favorite. What's your favorite season, Georgia?

GEORGIA: My favorite season is clam strips.
